Have a need?
Grocery shopping for the most vulnerable:
-Kroger Pickup allows you to order online, designate a pickup time, and have your groceries loaded directly into your trunk.
-Costco has added senior hours for members over 60 on Tuesday and Thursday each week from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Walmart is offering special shopping hours every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older. This article includes additional stores with special hours.
Extra time to fill:
-Even though the galleries are closed, you can still visit the Toledo Museum of Art's world renowned collection online at emuseum.toledomuseum.org or TMA's Google Arts & Culture partner page. And if you are not already doing so, we recommend following TMA on its social channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) for even more fun and engaging content.
-Check out the latest news from Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, with their many online offerings.
Fill a need!
-Folks in assisted living facilities are pretty much isolated. You can help by surprising them with a phone call or note. Some facilities are also reaching out to the community for snacks or activity items (coloring books, small puzzles, etc) to help with boredom. Call the skilled nursing facility nearest you to check on what items and supplies might be helpful to them.
-With personal protective equipment (PPE) in such demand, hospitals have enlisted help from local volunteers to sew face masks.
